World's Best First Class 2014 from Skytrax
The World Airline Awards took place at Farnborough International Airshow earlier this month. The results are quite accurate. However, I do believe that Emirates deserve a higher rank.
I would like to share my experience onboard Singapore Airlines' first class seats. To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed by the service on the flight. I think Singapore Airlines’ First Class service has been played up so much that I had high expectations, and the crew had to deal with a full 12/12 Suites Class on this flight. Every time I tried to engage them in conversation, they respond with a couple sentences and would disappear. That isn’t to say they weren’t great compared to other airlines – every time I pushed the call button (which was at most 3 times maybe), I had someone within 5 seconds. It’s just I had better interactions with the crew on my subsequent Lufthansa and British Airways flights. Services were quite good but there were certainly room for improvement. Encountered crews ranging from good to excellent on these flights. Catering was mainly Book the Cook and very good (FRA food is never as good as most other ports). Choice of DOM or Krug and great wine selection. SQ are still close to perfect in first class.
Still, the hard product on this plane is fantastic. Since Suites is on the main deck, it gives a much roomier feel than similar A380 First products on the top deck (like Emirates).
The link below is a video showing the TOP 10 first class cabins in the world. There is a slideshow showing all the features of the seats and meals. I find Qatar Airways and All Nippon Airways' seats quite amazing. Have anyone been onboard any of these top airlines? Feel free to discuss about their services/ soft product/ hard products. I am happy to discuss with all of you and hope that we can have more insight on different airlines.

Why is this a "gem"? It's the truth. These forgein carriers hire based on a standard. You think the 60+ FA's of AA, UA, DAL, etc make a first class experience worth it?
Sex sells and you have a slim trim and attractive Asian vs a 60+ 275lb with a bad attitude.

Ah YES! Let's advocate discrimination, until it affects YOUR job.
Sex sells?--on a mode of transportation that gets you from Point A to Point B safety? An airplane ain't a bar or club. You want young and sexy, feel free to head on over to some strip club or Hooters. If ANYONE buys a ticket on an airline based on how young, skinny and sexy their FAs are.....yeah they've got issues. Have you not noticed that probably half of passengers today AREN'T horny, middle-aged businessmen?
Glad to hear your generalization that ALL women over 60 are fat, ugly and lazy. Got it.
Thank goodness I raised my son to respect his elders, and not judge women on their looks alone (whether they're young or old). Be sure to share your caveman opinions with the women in your life.

Where did I generalize all women as fat, ugly and lazy? As a "pilot nanny" on two senior airframes, I see why you're offended.
You're accusation of discrimination is baseless and unfounded. It's the truth that they hire based upon a certain standard. Simply stating that doesn't mean I hate women. If I said China employees children in their factories, does that mean I hate all Asian children?
It's a fact of society and human nature that we unconsciously discriminate upon our own mental ideas. These companies hire based upon what they think is a best fit for this. I never promoted it or praised it. Simply stated a truth.
Take a breath and calm down. I don't hate you or women in general. My son and I respect all women! Thin, fat, ugly, pretty, old and young.

Nice try. However, your insinuation was plain. "Certain standards" is a dog whistle for young, thin and sexy.
We know it and, BTW, LNL76 knows it.
Personally, I'd rather have a crew of older, experience F/As who actually know what their job on the aircraft is. Hint: it isn't being eye candy or layover bait for you.
Better get in your WayBack machine, Mr. Peabody. The F/A weigh-ins, seamed nylons, girdles and high heels went out about 1976.

Your choice of crew is your choice. I never said that I wanted a crew of 20 something 110lb eye candy.
You guys need a bit of self confidence and less anger.
