Default Last Shuttle Plume....

Attended the final shuttle launch last week just 5 miles from the pad. Didn't take any shots as I figured there would be plenty available from the real pros.
However, I snapped this one just after the shuttle entered the clouds... not high quality but I thought it was neat....

That looks great! I only wish that I had been there. I’m sure you are very grateful to have witnessed such an awesome event. Thanks for sharing the photo. -----Good day.

I had wanted to go to the last launch, but work conspired against me. The really sad part is now we go, hat in hand, to other countries to get our astronauts and cargo up....it's a shame we have no replacement.

I agree, it is kind of amazing that after all these years of manned space flight, were taking a few years off with no definite plan for a future return.
