Cool video.
In the mid-80's I was a flying club instructor at Falcon Field. I remember watching Sentimental Journey be towed by her tailwheel from the boneyard/junkyard that was (still is?) located there to the pad at the approach end of 4. She was white, sorta, with orange tail and wingtips with her belly stained from the fire retardant she had been dropping in her past life.
Although I was not part of it, I was witness to the piece-by-piece transformation (resurrection).

BTW, for those who haven't read more on the B-17 that burned in a field:

I've done restoration work on an Avenger, and it's really cool to be a part of "Keep 'em flying". Although losing Bell is a terrible loss, but I'm still in support of them flying and not parked in some building to collect dust. We have too many ignorant people that don't know what WW2 is, and the hardships that were endured (same as other wars) to win victory over an issue that REALLY mattered. I see these old airplanes (especially now that the B-29 Fifi is flying again), and I think about my relatives who fought hard to live to fly to their base, although one didn't make it. My grand uncle on his missions in a B-29 over Japan, grandfather in his B-24 in India, a step-grandfather flying his B-17 with the 8th Air Force, and another uncle who was a B-17 tail gunner with the 8th. I really hope after some time, I can get the honor to fly one of these around to airshows and educate people and the newest generation. Great video, and I'm apologize for my rambling, I'm very passionate about this topic. A few years ago, I ordered and received plans to build an 80% scale Spitfire that I hope I can build one day.
