Nice shot. Where did you take this? It is one of the Heritage Phlight jets from Tyndall. Beautiful paint; glad they are still sending it to airshows.
Man, I loved phlying this thing.

No, the TD tail-code is for the Target-squadron at Tyndall AFB (Think "Tyndall Drone"). The F-15s, when they were there, and now F-22s, are TY tail-codes. The jet that Flyjets posted here is a late-model F-4E, with a TISEO-camera on the left wing (linked to the radar for Visual Identification of target aircraft). The target guys at Tyndall have about 4 or 5 jets painted-up nice that they use for proficiency training, and one or two demo pilots who take it on the summer airshow circuit. There used to be a really funny tongue-in-cheek video called "QF-4 Demo Team" on UTube. With money tight, I'm glad the program didn't get cancelled.
The Collings jet used to be painted like "someone else's" jet from Vietnam. The most recent paint scheme represents Robin Olds' F-4C from Operation Bolo (even though the Collings jet is really an F-4D). I don't think Olds ever flew F-4Es, or at least, not in Vietnam.
Have you heard anything else from our friends in Houston UAL?

Not yet, but I still need to get my CFI (haven't had time to study and take the written test). Plus, I'm not really available until I'm off active-duty!
Next time I get down there I'm going to stop by and say hello myself.
