I was taking photos from this same spot the day before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. I think a couple of the crews reported to the tower the airplanes were being tracked by something(it was a Canon 400mm f2.8 on a huge black tripod). It took about 10 min from the time the first Chicago police truck pulled up and I had no less than 6 police vehicles surrounding me. I was upfront and professional with them and they with me. In the end, I was asked to leave the spot but not TOLD to leave. You can only take so many of these head on shots so I moved about 30minutes later after they left to a spot about 75 yards down the road. 15min later 2 more cop cars from Scheiler Park came by .. I told them they had missed all the action.. What fun!!... Fortunately, I did not meet the pavement as I have heard others have after smarting off.....I watch COPS on tv.. hahaha.. Be Nice.. especially to policeman.
