On a side note to the 1049 parked at Kermits place.
When they flew her in they had a bit of a flap problem and to top it all off someone called the cops after the plane had landed and my understanding is that the a/c is to stay right where she is after that little incident.
Mind you all of this happened right after 9/11
I wonder if those guys who had a working Connie in Kansas City are still flying the old girl around?

From the Website it looks as though the Connie in Kansas, with "Save a Connie" foundation is sitting in a museum now, I'm not sure if its flying anymore. I hope they keep it flying, I'd love to retire one day and volunteer for them and mabye ride around in it giving tours....wouldnt that be awesome

I used to fly out of SLN quite a bit and if I remember correctly that Connie wasn't parked there on purpose. Story goes that it was being ferried across the country to get all fixed up and lost two engines enroute. They dropped into SLN and there it sat for I don't know how long. I was doing a lot of flying there in 1998 and judging by the amount of guano on the tires then, it had been some time before. Hope she gets into the air someday if she isn't already.
