I wonder why there aren't more civilian operated C-130s. It would undoubtedly make a great cargo aircraft (as the military as proven). Perhaps too expensive to operate?

Great shots, FoD.

It makes a great cargo aircraft as long as you don't have to clear a profit. Not usually a concern of the govt.

Great shots.

Was that Sunday? That was a chilly morning. I was out cruising on the ramp and my hands got cold.

Default Alaska Aviation Conference this next weekend

Saturday and Sunday / May 1st and 2nd In the FedEx PANC maintenance hangar.
I plan on being there. It is the NBAA trade show of Alaska aviation.
Staying with a friend in Palmer who operates a Cessna 180.
Weather forecast for Saturday...Sunshine and 59 degrees F.

Yes it's a 121 cargo plane. People sometimes just come to jumpseat on it. The c46 is sort of a crude machine. It's loud, like so loud hand signals are the best form of communication at takeoff power. I've only deadheaded on one flight.

Good guess. I thought it was summer so I didn't wear long underwear, serious lapse in judgement.
