This is how you race the darkness
1:30p - Commercial AMEL Checkride begins
2:00p - Oral exam ends, DPE stories begin
3:15p - Stories end, practical exam begins
4:10p - Practical exam ends, DPE stories begin
5:00p - Stories end
5:01p - Myself and other instructor realize neither of us is multi night current
5:02p - Mad dash to airplane to race the daylight home

Congrats on passing the AMEL! I remember the lfight home after my checkride too. It was one of my favorites. It was a long time ago though. What are the currency requirements for multi-engine night flying?

Congrats on the new rating.
I would ask then how you would become night current? If you are with another pilot and not flying passengers, do your three landings and now you would be current. I guess I don't understand the huge rush to get back to base.
