Default Rare Aircraft

Here is a link to a website with a big collection of rare aircraft of the first half of the 20th Century someone sent me. These were mostly military prototypes built when the race was on to produce superior battle aircraft in WWII, but some were built to test peacetime applications.

It got discontinued due to the high mortality rates associated with its operation. Also, they ran out of volunteers willing to fly it. At one point a PINBALL MANNED AERIAL TARGET drivers union was established, but no one survived to pay any dues, and it disbanded after about a month. This was before parachutes were invented of course, but it probably would still be hard to find volunteers even today. It has been proposed as an alternative to waterboarding by the CIA though, and it remains to be seen whether congress approves funding.
