What you do when you get stuck for weather in Dillingham.

This is a working airplane.

These things are huge on amphibs.

I believe the first one was a grummen widgeon. Am I right?

Just curious, what is the caravan on floats used for? Fishing trips?

Top picture is a Grumman Goose - much bigger than the Widgeon and equiped with 450 P&W's. The Widgeon was originally equipped with 200hp Ranger inline engines and fixed pitch, wooden propellers. Many have been upgraded to larger hp Lycomings - I believe o-480's (did they also fit a geared flat motor on Widgeons?). Anyway - same basic shape - only a Goose is larger with appropriate engines.
