Waco Biplane on Floats
#4
Thanks Jungle - HUGE weakness for Waco's. The right-hand door is neat - don't see many Cabins down here with that option. What intriques me is the oil cooler placement. Must be a Jacobs. My Grandpa had a Standard Cabin (YKS-7) with a 245hp Jake - it was a bear to keep cool. Cabin Waco drivers all have to get used to extreme heat in the front seats - for some reason the cabins were all unreasonably hot...that is why the windows rolling down all the way was such a treat. Never experienced this kind of heat in any of the contemporaries I ever flew - Staggerwings, Howards, Stinson SR Reliants or V-77, or C-195's...seems to be a Cabin Waco thing.
