Default Photo Editing Software?

I am curious to know what you guys think as far as inexpensive (around 50 to 80 bucks or so) photo editing software goes. I've always heard that photoshop is the way to go but was wondering if anyone else might have a different opinion. I currently use Microsoft Office Photo Manager for simple cropping, rotating, and resizing but am looking to upgrade to something else in the near future. Thanks!

If you want cheap yet quality photo editing, I would suggest Pixia. It takes little bit of tinkering to learn it, as there aren't very many good tutorials or anything out there for it, but you can do just about anything photoshop can do with it (with the exception of cropping, for some reason. I still don't understand how that's not in there. Oh well, you can use Photo manager for that.). And the best part? It's free.

there is no substitute for Photoshop, but if you're on a budget, check out GIMP.

GIMP is fairly good. It's also freeware. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

Default Photoshop Elements 5

Since you're willing to pay some money, I recommend Photoshop Elements 5.

It's $85 on Amazon.com, and worth every cent if you're half-way serious about photography.

Buy this book along with Photoshop Elements, and you'll be a force to be reckoned with...

Check out 'Picasa'. It's put out by Google and is very powerful and FREE.

Google it and you will find it. Try it out before you buy anything else. I am very satisfied with it.
