Default Seabee

I just wanted to share some photos of my dad's Seabee with you all. I didn't realize we could post pictures on here until today.

The seabee pilots: (from left to right) me, dad and grandpa. Our jack russel winnie is who my dad is holding. I swear, we are smiling!Circ. 2000

If you like, my dad wrote a great article that you can read. Here it is. http://www.republicseabee.com/Marty%20B.htm

That's pretty cool. I was able to only read about half way through the article. Once I wrap up my homework I'll try to finish the rest of it. Sounds like an interesting airplane. I never heard of a Seabee until now.

You can tell lots of "three generation Aviation Family" pride went into the restoration.

Oh, hehehe! I wish we could take credit for the restoration but that was actually done by the previous owner, Marty Bennett (may he RIP). He was a retired EAL captain in Georgia and spent about 10 years restoring her. He and his son put a lot of hard work into the Bee over those years. I think he got to fly it for about 5 years before he passed on. His son, and entire family, were in tears when they sold the airplane to us but they knew we would take care of her, appreciate her and give her a nice comfortable home at SC99. In honor of Marty Bennett, my grandfather named the Bee, "The Marty B." But since my grandafther is an A&P, we do all the work ourselves and he signs it off if the job is good enough. I don't trust anyone else to work on her, my father and grandfather especially! I get to fly her again in about two weeks when I get home. It's been over 8 months since I flown her and I can't wait to be reunited.
