High Altitude Recon. Aircraft and Pilots
Suited up and prebreathing for a nine hour mission. (RB-57F - 1969)

RB-57F Aircraft and Crew- 1969
Back seat systems operator did all the work. Must use autopilot above 60,000 (VFR on TOP). Pilots job was to stay awake.

HISTORICAL FACTS: (Open for challenge)
The only active duty military pilot to fly a U-2 over the Soviet Union was a Royal Air Force (UK) Pilot.
Since all overflights were prohibited after May 1,1960 no USAF U-2 or SR-71 has ever overflown the Soviet Union.
The only USAF high altitude recon pilots to overfly the Soviet Union were RB-57D pilots. Three of them were over Vladavostock on the same day.

Good shots. Taiwan did some work with the U-2, RB-57, etc. Active duty and sheep dipped aren't too far apart.

Will post some more "attractive" pictures of current versions.
This aircraft flew many of the same missions as the U-2 in the 1960s. Its existence was relatively unknown because it was not assigned to Strategic Air Commmmand and it was kept inside hangers at most deployment sites.
