I want to go back to the whale for the schedules, or maybe you didn't quite pick up on that.

I'm hoping so, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe I'll let a couple of ACPs know that I'm volunteering to come back, no move required. Just the short course, and I'm ready to go. Everybody is hearing rumors of a major system bid coming up.

I was wondering the same thing. Then it occurred to me that a friend bypassed upgrade this year. He was a Dec 2000 hire. Did we even hire anybody 2001-2004 ? If we did not, or only a few, then an upgrade could jump from 2000 to 2005 in one bid.

Unlikely that ANC schedules would go junior. I'd still say that the junior upgrades will be le' Bus, ONT and B757 domestic (in any order). But I could be wrong again.

There were 2001 hires until the week before 9/11...then nothing until two classes in Nov/Dec 2004.

Wasn't ANC the junior captain seat either prior to or during the furlough?

ANC was junior prior to and during the furlough.

More recently the ANC base has consisted of people who were there mostly by their own choice. Their seniority could hold other places.

An increase in the ANC numbers may make it junior again. But for now the junior fleets are domestic (ONT, B757 SDF and A300). The schedules can be bad on the domestic fleets for someone who got accustomed to a senior FO schedule of one leg to the hotel internationally. I'm JUNIOR and I still avoid the domestic fleets, I could hold any of them.

C'mon, you don't honestly believe what you just wrote do you??

Why commute to ANC when I can have a commercial deadhead out and in to my local airport? Nearly four years on the Whale and I could count my scheduled CML trips on one finger. I have three this week (yeah Peak, why operate when you can CML!) I also have zero Jumpseat commutes in PP1701 which means my commuting stress level is about zero.

Yes it's about schedule, and mine is better in SDF. I don't give a poop about where I layover (okay I'll skip OAK and take all the EWR you've got) and I'd rather have 12-14 hour layovers and get on with it and go home to play with my toys.

If the system bid closed today the Jr. Captain would be seniority number #2265.....hard to believe.....and I highly doubt it will end up that way. As things stand now that is where Jr. Cap is going.....A300 SDF.

Did you run your own mock bid or something ?

Wait till all the system preference bids get updated/changed in the upcoming weeks.

Completely agree with you about the commute to ANC. And it's only going to get worse with 82 more guys on this bid.
ANC cml, not so many. I wish ANC had half of what SDF does.
