My application updated today to only have the Hogan assessment as a completed task. The previous addendum (supplement) no longer is listed. Before the total was 3 completed tasks.

Any thoughts?

Agree 100% for the retirements after say 2032, can see those skewing towards mandatory (65).

Just like you, I have found a niche that gives me the least amount of time at work.....The exact opposite of that is the junior domestic schedules. Domestic catering is terrible, short layovers and constant circadian flips, last day? You get a 10hr layover for your 5am commercial. I agree that this place is a fantastic place to be but lets not put lipstick on a pig. If I had the choice to be a senior FO here vs a senior FO at a legacy, I would choose the legacy any day.

A point that needs to be made. Our new hires average early 40s vs more than a decade younger at the legacies (correct me if I’m wrong). That means the timeframe to senior FO is much longer at a legacy vs here. A consequence of our hiring practices is timelines are relatively condensed and this will probably become more noticeable as our 30+ year guys age out and are replaced with 45 year olds. It also means the company has signed up for more “free” training churn.

A. Jr domestic are base trips or reserve-A. Biggest downsides to base trips are commutability. Reserve requires a Crashpad. Base trips can have some nice flying, albeit with multiple commutes. I think the schedules you are referring to are the ones just above what the bottom feeders get - the worst of the week on week offs, intl trips, etc. People trade off the # of commutes and or Crashpad for convenience at the cost of worse pairings.

B. I have kept close tabs on my friends who went to the legacies over the 10 years since we all started getting hired. Removing the outliers and averaging the rest out, it seems we are all kind of doing the same, similar progressions, paychecks, time off, etc. The outlier’s circumstances wouldn’t apply to me: Have a buddy at AA, JFK based and relatively junior, living really good work lifestyle, but that life requires living in NYC area, close to the airports…no thanks! I could be killing in ANC with the conflicting/displacement lifestyle but that’s not in the cards for me. Compared to the schedules of the intl captains at the legacies (peers) I’d take my Z schedule over theirs any day of the week. Otherwise legacies win from a circadian perspective, hands down. All said and done, I don’t think the legacies are a clear winner but could be depending on your individual circumstances.

0500 commercial is your choice. I have plenty of commercial tickets and make the choice to sleep at the hotel or go directly to the pax terminal if I want to get home asap.
