I would also anticipate a lot of 60-64 year olds punching out if and when we get a contract.

Yeah I have flown with a few that are waiting for that A plan bump to retire.

Those guys might be 50 today. 😎

In all seriousness, it's so early in the process, I wouldn't even remotely factor in what may or may not happen once our next contract is signed in a decision to come here. To sum up some of the best advice in this forum so far: if UPS is your dream job (live in/near SDF, like the A Plan, like cargo, not bothered by night sort, etc), by all means continue to target us as your number one & maybe even consider giving up a year or two of seniority somewhere else to come here. There are lots of good arguments for this place. If however, you can't stand the idea of sitting the sort, need your terminal Chik Fil A fix between flights, live in Atlanta/Dallas/LA/Denver/name your favorite Major's domicile, OR value "industry standard" commuter language, etc, then maybe re-think accepting a job here. Lots of negatives to go with those positives. For most of us here, the positives outweighed the negatives, but this definitely isn't for everyone. If you're agnostic on the whole thing, take the first offer from a place you can stomach and don't ever look back. Seniority solves a lot of the downsides anywhere.

Application window is still open...

I got to the Hogan and haven't heard anything since.

Has anyone been called to schedule and interview recently (last two weeks)?

Steve, I applied in April, got the Phone Screen email a couple weeks ago, took the Hogan on 27 June, interviewed 5 July, and got the CJO yesterday for the 20 August class. Hopefully you'll hear back soon. If UPS starts the process with you, you're a strong candidate, so keep the head up. What's your availability?

AA/DL/UA will be running around 5% per year. We will be running between 2-3%. In relation, our numbers will be smaller.

This is very well stated. This place ain’t for everyone. Took me a long time to adjust to the UPS way and the day to day dynamic, whereas most pax carriers are very similar.
