Not neccesarily. Cargo Facts said yesterday that UPS said they will continue to park the 15 MD-11's previously annouced. Even with the USPS contract. Nine to be parked in 2024.

Remember folks anytime anyone tries to tell you what’s going to happen with hiring, industry forecasts etc, take it with a grain of salt. I’m not going to dig into these threads any farther but I can’t tell you the amount of times people here said there would be zero hiring until, best case scenario, 2025.
FDX hired 900-1000 back in 2002 for the USPS contract. Just throwing that out there.

Anyone else having issues applying? I filled everything out and hit submit, close the pop-up window thanking me for applying, and my application is immediately marked as inactive? I did get a confirmation email but nothing asking me for a more detailed breakdown of my flight time. Is anyone else having this issue? Or could perhaps offer a potential solution? Thanks

UPS has stated they expect a similarly sized bid later this year. 300-400 seems to be their max training throughput in a given year. There may or may not be more hiring on the way next year. It'll be interesting to see how the additional flying and changes to the network are sussed out over the next several months. I suspect we'll know if we're "right sized" once we're through peak.

Historically, if anything was enterered in error, or missed, the UPS app will lock you out for one year.

The famous "green check marks" are a good sign. Green checks followed by a "locked app" is a super good thing

Historically...maybe the IT system is different now

First year pay at UPS is $56.07/hr now, going to $57.89 (3.25% raise) on 1Sept24.

Yes it sucks, and yes I sincerely hope we're able to address toward industry standard that in our upcoming negotiations.

Question regarding Eligibility:

PIC hours requirements on the website. Does this mean that ONLY pilots with PIC time can apply or do they allow PICus time holders to apply as well.

So technicially only Captains or previous captains are eligible to apply?

PIC. It'd say PIC under supervision IF PICus was kosher to UPS.

UPS sets newhire rates, not the IPA.
