wonder if that will stay that way

December class will have both (light and heavy). Scheduled to be 24 new hires in December. No idea what the class drop will be

When did you interview? I interviewed on November 4th. I know I still have some time before I hear anything.

Original response was late August, quickly followed by Hogan, zoom interview mid-late Sept, CJO 1 October, 9 Nov class date. I feel like that's a pretty quick timeline. Feels like there's a lot of ebb and flow here. Patience is the key.

The timeline here can be fast like yours or you can spend months in the pool. My experience was very similar to yours, but I’ve met more than a few guys who spent 6 months to a year in the pool. I doubt the current hiring environment will significantly shift their approach, but it may effectively shorten many pool waits as they find their pool being drained by FedEx, Delta, etc.

True^^^^Agree - Swimming in the pool is everything it seems. Friend of mine swam well over 6 months, a bit too long as Purple threw a life preserver quicker and pulled him out. Faster you get yanked out the better you did perhaps but really inconsequential if you have other amiable opportunities. Nothing new with people leaving even during training from the Top 5 jumping laterally, especially prior to the viral debacle but it will grow from here significantly beyond anything seen before. Everyone is behind, well maybe not with some pools still available - early retirements from Big 3, voluntary leave, requals/training behind, escapees back to mil work, etc. . Massive hiring initiatives by all others for many years ahead as the flood gates are open and the applicant pool dries up. Fleet retirements and slow production/procurement of new aircraft will only stem the tsunami hiring wave so much. It will be an interesting decade or more.

I hope to God it doesn't take a year for them to notify me. I interviewed Nov 4TH.

It was five months, almost to the day, for me. I think that was more towards the long side in my class, but definitely not the longest. It *felt* like a year. All I can say is what you've probably already read many times: No news is good news, and while the hiring system is awful, the job isn't. Hang in there.
