As a guy who came from a Fortune 25 corporate flight department with worldwide operations, I have been into WAY more dangerous places than the ones listed. We actually considered some of the places the MIA crews are flying to be more of a security risk. I would gladly fly into Istanbul, Tel Aviv, etc, especially if it meant more jobs here at UPS.

As for other cities...they’d be more IPA pilot jobs, somebody will bid it. Remember BT’s video earlier this week where international scope was in the company’s crosshairs?

Delta does Lagos, Accra, and Dakar; I don’t think they’ve required crew bribes or been held up at gunpoint.
Agreed. FEDEX has begun service to South Africa. Pretty sure they are doing fine. All UPS flying should be IPA.

Did you know EL AL aircraft are equipped with middle defense systems to protect against SAMs? Did you know Mossad provides security? You want to fly there, have at it.. I’m ok with it. How long has WG flown Domestic turns, you didn’t mention that?
No dog in this fight. Just a purple guy who was based in CGN. Our TLV flying was the most senior in the bidpack. That place is awesome. Great people and great food and always felt safe there.

But you know why El Al has all those safeguards? Because El Al is the target, not some Purple or Brown tail.

If T.U. is too dumb to see the difference between Tel Aviv and Kandahar, you are wasting your breath.

BTW I agree with you, TLV is an incredible city.

There are some real gems out there. One guy asked me if London was safe. I said you better stick to Omaha.

LOL. We have the same guys at Purple. I flew with a guy once whose wife and kids’ dream was to go to Paris. He refused to take them because “it was too dangerous” and took them to New Orleans instead because “it’s basically the same.”
