Global companies attract global talent, they have the luxury of attracting the best and brightest on the planet. It'd be interesting to see how many workers at Google, Facebook, Apple, etc who're in the country on a work Visa have "PhD" after their name. I'm guessing a lot.

I'm with you in the opposition of insourcing cheap labor, but with the talent demands in tech, I know that bidding wars are common and frequent.

A parallel concern is why isn't the US's educational system producing qualified labor in adequate numbers? Do you think DeVos's initiatives are going to change that?

Anyway, Oscar is a citizen with full 1st amendment rights, and I'd bet you a coffee his comments are coordinated with the help of legislative affairs and full knowledge of the board. As someone else pointed out, our company prospers when we put butts in seats. Moral arguments aside, Oscar has a duty to protest anything that gets in the way of that goal.
Since I'm no longer in the military, my first amendment rights are no longer abridged. Should the POTUS have his first amendment rights abridged? Absolutely.

I'll take that coffee bet on whether or not the board is being informed of Oscar's comments. In fact, I'll raise the stakes as high as you're willing to go. That isn't the way that boards currently operate. But I shouldn't need to tell you that.

I'm good for a coffee, it's a gentleman's bet, you're a gentleman and I try to be. I'm sorry if I came across as suggesting that the board micro-manages press releases, I know that's not realistic but I'm sure they're briefed on issues. I guess we'll have to corner Todd to see how the info flows. I'll still buy ya a coffee.

As a citizen Oscar has full 1st amendment rights. As he CEO of a multi-national company, when speaking on behalf of that multi-national company, maybe not so much.

If I was him, if I had to say anything, I would just express my sympathy for refugees of all nationalities.

I think expressing his political policy opinions, as the CEO, is in poor judgement.

What part of the Constitution has Trump raped?

He has the right (and duty) "to pettition the government for a redress of grivances". This has nothing to do with opinions.

Any part that federal judges say he did.

Aligning with this White House didn't work so well for Uber.

Judge Robart appears to be on shakey legal ground so far:

Trump's Immigration Order Is Both Legal and Constitutional
