Munoz comes out against borders.

Without making political statements, from a business standpoint you have to understand that Trump was elected by the minority of American voters, and some of his more divisive policies appeal to a very vocal minority within that minority. He has an historically low approval rating, and we are witnessing unprecedented public activism against his leadership. Probably no executive action better represents his precarious relationship with the American public than his immigration ban.
This being the case, many companies seem to be concluding that publicly aligning themselves with the growing public opposition makes good business sense. Whether you agree with the ban or not, whether or not you agree with Oscar's statements, whether you think Oscar is being sincere or opportunistic; the reality is that his comments will probably earn United more dollars than they lose.

Any move that makes travel more restrictive is bad for our company. If we make it harder for people to come do business/vacation in our country it harms us. We are in the business of moving people around the world.

Among his comments in a recent CEO conference criticizing new immigration policies (some criticisms I agree with ), Oscar steps out and denounced borders "anywhere".
Wonder where that puts him on foreign airline labor.
To be fair he said, " wall", but same difference. Wall, fence, barriers. They are all forms of border control.
What makes him feel like he needs to publicly comment on political issues that have nothing to do with airline administration?
Could it be he's just trying to keep up with his buds out in California?
