Short call reserve United
#21
One guy was denied the extra pay because his flight ended up taking a mechanical delay. The fact that he got there is record time (in Johnny Bravo mode) made zero difference. Something to consider before you blast off to the drome.

Plus he lost the hour for the unused SC.

Kind of what I figured. Sounds good on paper though.

The contract paragraph only deals with reporting time. UPA says nothing about getting paid extra the hour or two hours for "on time" departure.

You can also use terminal parking anytime under 3 hours to "facilitate an on-time departure". That can save 15-20 minutes compared to employee parking.
I have received the add-pay after I call them as I'm walking to the terminal from the terminal parking lot.

I've said it before, so here goes again.
Short call is 2.5 and rarely an actual happening, BUT.....SFO happens more often. Large maintenance base, planes just sitting around.
Once in a while they generate an emergency ferry flight to cover for a broken plane somewhere. All fleets. So, in the bay area, "Heavy Traffic" happens every day, all day long. Be careful because the 2.5 call out happens in SFO.
