I'm looking forward to NWARF's (ticker symbol) Q3 report, to be released on 25 Oct. Based on their monthly traffic figures, their RASK for the quarter was approximately the same as their Q2 CASK. And Q3 is their best quarter.
I don't see them operating in 2019.

I had a glance at Boeing's order site today and noticed a total of 129 737MAX aircraft still on order (after six deliveries so far). Last I remember, we had 161 total MAXes on order. So, BA seems to think we have 26 less MAX aircraft on order than what we've publicly stated. Anyone know why there is a discrepancy?
Anyways, I wouldn't fret about the modest decline in our NB orderbook for a couple of reasons. First, we don't need all those aircraft in short order as we keep older aircraft viable for longer (I'm starting to think 30 is the new 25). 10-20 new NB aircraft a year would cover NB growth I'd think. Second, it is not going to be all that tough to acquire new or used NB aircraft. BA and Airbus are producing over 100 NBs a month and meanwhile there are a lot of airlines out there on shaky legs that may have newer used NBs available soon at fire sale prices. Not a big need for a NSNB anytime soon really.
And yes, I'm still wondering about what is going to happen with our 350 order and the NMA vs. the 321LR.

So much for the theory about the company getting out of the Rolls-Royce A350 contract by purchasing a bunch of Rolls powered B797’s instead. I guess we’ll find out by 2022.

"The single-aisle plane would be pitched as a direct competitor to the likes of Airbus's A320 series and would likely replace Boeing's older 767 and 757 planes."
So they are going to replace a twin-aisle 767 with a single aisle plane? Plus they are going to make a plane comparable to the 320? They already do. Its called the guppy.

"Rolls-Royce had put forward UltraFan engine to power Boeing's new plane but in statement Thursday, the engine maker withdrew its tender stating it was "unable to commit to the proposed timetable.""
BA has been publicly "slow" to launch the NMA, I've wondered the last two summers whether an announcement would be made at Paris/Farnborough. Latest I've seen is that they may not even announce it this summer. Meanwhile, Airbus has been almost eager to announce the launch of a 321XLR to counter a NMA announcement. Me thinks BA has been full speed ahead for quite some time with a firm entry into service date in mind, but is delaying the launch announcement as long as possible to gather orders ahead of the 321XLR counterpunch (I think Airbus is launching it now anyways though). Rolls' pullout reinforces the idea of an an accelerated target date for entry into service.

Crazy how married to Boeing we seem to be sometimes aside from the 350 waffle - saying that, I have zero problems flying their aircraft but things like the new 321s seem to 1) check a lot of needed boxes and 2) presently exist. Can't figure out why we don't have 50+ on order.

Not certain, but I think observers here have posted that there is already a multiyear backlog of orders. If we ordered today, we wouldn’t see a jet for 5+ years.
I still think the “swap Rolls for 797” was UA’s plan. Scramble mode now.
As to single-aisle: I wonder how accurate the statement is. Every other article I’ve read says it could be a one OR two, depending on how configured.
