As UAL seasoned said management wants what’s good for management. It’s up to us, the pilot group, to keep him in check. Kirby has really impressed me so far.

why on earth would we do that?! I expect management to act like management...I'm just happy when they do a competent job of it. Kirby understands how to make this airline competitive in the long run...that's good. Of course he'd like to get us, or anyone else, to fly his jets at cut rate wages...it's our job to keep that from happening. If we keep strong and unified, Kirby will be a very good thing for our airline.
You’ll get no support from me to oust Kirby or OM... at this time. They actually want to run a world class airline and not just raid the coffers. I support that and will do whatever they ask every time I show up to work, until ALPA says otherwise.

A lot of us went into the military because of the backwards slide caused by the RJ proliferation. Thousands of guys that were furloughed and went back on AD, or took COLA to orders.... it’s not exactly a big secret. Spent many hours listening to the airline guys sit around the ready room and educate the young guys. You’re not special because you were there in person. A no vote is a no vote. Most guys don’t need a kick in the balls to know they shouldn’t vote for getting one.

"The scope limit, coupled with a readily available supply of 50-seat jets and a drive to reduce aircraft capital expenditures, appear to be driving United's CRJ200 surge this year.
United aims to address scope. The airline plans to push for relief to expand its large regional jet fleet in its next pilots' contract, which could come as soon as January 2019. Negotiations with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) can begin in May.
"We can wind up turning 50 seaters into larger regional jets, but we make some kind of commitment to them, whether it's a growth commitment or jobs," says Kirby. He believes that by continuing to expand the airline's mainline operations it can convince pilots that it does not plan to outsource jobs to lower-cost regional partners if it gets scope relief.
Analysts are wary of this view. Keay expects pilots to demand a "generous raise" in exchange for scope relief in the next round of negotiations."

Amen.....we just need to convince all those pilots who will never be furloughed or downgraded. They will all be telling us we’re idiots for voting down the pay.
