She is a bit abrasive for sure. BUT, she is a phenomenal unionist and we are extremely lucky to have her fighting on our behalf.

After flying with her and getting to know her a little more, my opinion has definitely changed. It all comes from a good place with the best of intentions. She'd bend over backwards to help her fellow pilots out. The delivery may have been a little tone deaf, but I can't fault someone for being passionate.

I have seen a LOT of our pilots without ALPA pins. I have seen very few LUAL pilots wearing legacy wings. And I check both on every pilot. The excuse that "LUA pilots are wearing legacy pins" is totally unacceptable. Its a scab-like answer.
But that's totally what I would expect those guys to say. Everyone has an excuse. Scabs and those that don't wear the pin.

Dadgummit, a few days back I tried to get this thread back on track (ya know, fleet issues/rumors). It instantly derailed again for several pages of discussion on scope and whatnot. Maybe it is time for a dedicated scope thread after all:
The Scope Discussion Thread
I'll give putting this thread on track another go - someone posted on the other forum an extremely thin rumor that we were looking at some used 737-600s. A separate poster noted that the -600 had been added to an AMM of ours somewhere (AMM = Aviation Maintenance Manual it seems). No tail numbers were added with it though.
I don't think the rumor is true, especially since I can't imagine a change happening to an AMM before a purchase is announced. But, buying some used -600s on the super cheap would be a pretty slick way of filling the 76-118 seat hole in our fleet, for a while at least (and only 69 -600s were ever built). I realize the annual CASM of -600s would be relatively high... but that could be cancelled out if the purchase price were low enough (a number of ex-SAS -600s are parked so I'm guessing prices would be rock bottom).
A while back I asked folks to post their takes/reasoning on what we'd be doing with the low end of our fleet. I took the answers given and gave them cheeky names. Anyone like to comment or give their own cheeky name for this one?

From a leasing company guy I know:
EasyJet A-319's coming off lease in another year. Placed 10 with UA and trying to place another 10 with us, for a total of 20.

I very much doubt we would buy a small sub-fleet of CFM powered A-319s.......but what do I know!

Although not all the parts would be interchangeable we do have another fleet with the CFM-56. You wouldn't have to train the technician just stock some different blades and some other parts. Would it be as efficient as buying A319 with V2500 nopE. I am sure if the price is right management wouldn't even be bothered. After all they just closed a base to reopen a the base and countless other waist of money. This expense would be a rounding error.
