Does this announcement hint at the plans for United's fleet?
Yes, UAL is maxed out with the last E175 orders. So it either needs to buy a mainline 100 seat airplane or get additional scope relief in the next contract.

That's probably why the 22 CRJ700s are not actually official yet.

"The company is in talks with UAL regarding the remaining 22 CRJ700 aircraft."

The latest fleet update indicates finishing 2017 with 151 E175's. I believe this is a change form earlier in the year. So still room for 2 more E175's (max 76 seaters=153).

The other variable is the 70/76 seat limitation which is currently capped at 255. United will finish 2017 with 253 70/76 seat aircraft.

Skywest and Mesa both operate 20 CRJ-700's and GoJets has 25 CRJ-700's. I would expect to see someone get whipsawed as the Expressjet 700's enter service.

The easy math is 20 CRJ-700's leave, 22 CRJ-700's enter service and we hit the magic 255 70/76 seat cap. Just a guess on my part.

I was told 21 764s for Uniteds 350s along with a possible taking over the leases of the 18 777s as well ( replace all 763s)
All 330 and 350 fleet for Delta to reduce the 14 different types flying now.

Good swap I would say!

^^^^

FWIW, DAL recently deferred some of their A350 orders so is that because they don't need/want them them quickly or is it because they have another source for slots?

Hmmm.....

What, Delta selling perfectly good older planes to UAL for NEW widebodies?????

What's this industry coming to?

Next you'll tell me AA mgmt is giving away raises without a strike....

I won't really recognize the US majors anymore if this came to fruition!
