I have been told that this is VERY complicated data crunching especially for the more complex domiciles. I hear EWR 777 FO takes the longest to 'optimize', and is therefore the limiting factor for completing the FOs bids. Apparently, American had to resort to paper bidding for the FAs and is having trouble with some of the DFW pilots.

I heard that the way it works is manpower planning finishes to FO run at about 10:00 am CST. They then tap a keg and start a counter on how long it takes to get 5,000 log ins to pbs checking to see if schedules are published. When either the keg is drained or the counter hits 5,000, they publish the lines and go home for the night.
