I think the language was pretty clear, and myself, most of the people I fly with and the responses on this forum kinda indicated people thought Feb 1 was the effective date. I guess I'm glad ALPA is trying to get me more money, but I'd hardly call this an issue of the company "respecting us." So, if they stick to the Feb 1 effective date, I see nothing to "reciprocate."
It is this kind of chest pounding that makes rank and file pilots roll their eyes at the union sometimes. Just as a disclaimer for the eager beavers on here, I'm glad the union is strong and wants to pursue our interests, I just don't feel like there is in issue here with the company not complying with the agreement

after all the huge gains in recent years, this guy wants to get on a forum and whine about whether a snap up starts Jan or Feb
goodness some of these guys would whine no matter what they got
i used to get stuck flying four days with these morose negative types
so glad for the newer guys now with happier attitudes

Real ballers have a money gun...
I can understand where the ambiguity lies in the definition of second bid period. I'm glad ALPA is trying to exctract all they can, but I don't think it's worth going to war over. Keep those rounds chambered. Guys need to settle down. Focus that anger on more existential threats, like NAI. Some guys are screwing themselves into the ceiling over a few percentage points for one month, yet I doubt lifted a finger to write or call their reps over bigger problems.
I hope the company sees the light so to speak and gives the pilot group the respect and the credibility we deserve. I saw the little message on CCS from management saying they have a legitimate disagreement with ALPA on it's date of pay for the pilots.
Management was given a gift by ALPA in pursuing this extension and Delta Snap up. If management screws it up, I am sure the pilot group will reciprocate.
Good on ALPA for pursuing any and all avenues to gain and maintain compliance with our extension language.

For any date of signing increase, the effective date of the change to the hourly rates of pay contained in this Agreement shall be the first day of the second Bid Period that starts after the date of signing of the new Delta agreement. Notwithstanding Paragraph B.2.b.ii, the effective date for any required annual increase shall remain the first day of the January Bid Period.

How did they beat us? Our extension was early...not late. We aren't owed any backpay. We've been getting PAID for the last year while they've been missing out. Now we get PAID even more! Thanks Del-Duh.
