IAH 777 Displacement Out
#11
Seems kind of drastic just to get one guy out with a low seniority. Base trades is one way around the bumping seniority problem. One more base trade, and they are right back into the same problem, if indeed that is why this is happening.

Does anyone find it odd that they displaced 12 777 FOs in IAH but also have Dec TDY for 10 777 FOs to IAH?

I'm guessing although the bid is awarded they can't instintainously remove the flying from the base? Meaning although they may advance some pilots asap to cover other staffing issues elsewhere, they still need the other flying covered until it is redistributed.

I bet that is the reason. They upped the staffing around 30ish total must only have 20ish trained.

I'm still wondering why they added so many FO's. They went from five to six flights a day. I'm guessing we will see another 777 flight from IAH in the near future (or getting one back from the 787 )

From 16-11V there were 38 IAH 777 FO vacancies filled. Only 14 of the 38 show active for 777 staffing in December. Now that the displacement is out, I'm sure the untrained will be sent to training ASAP. They should receive pay protection in January even if they arent activated (start IOE).

They are WAY behind the power curve getting people trained into IAH. I understand why they need TDY's for IAH. December staffing shows there are 149 pilots out of a possible 190.
