Default Will United Copy Delta's Job Fair?

As the title implies. Does anyone know of plans for United to hold a job fair like Delta is doing in October? I know they have done, or are doing one for Veterans but that only benefits a small percentage of the pilot group.

I can't imagine why either airline would need to do this. If they are looking for applicants, they might try the many thousands of resumes submitted to them by qualified pilots, many with multiple internal recommendations, CP LORs, etc. Maybe I'm being overly cynical, but neither DAL nor UAL need to "get the word out" on hiring- what does it benefit anyone to have some poor guy fly halfway across the country just for five minutes of face time with someone on the hiring team who tells them to "hang in there"?

There is only a limited amount of military guys out there who are separating or retiring, it is a good plan to grab them while we can. The applicant pool at the regionals will always be there.

I agree but this seems to be the trend for now. Maybe it's a way for them to weed out people without having to waste actual interview slots. Who knows the thinking behind it.

Military/veteran pilot career fair scheduled Nov. 10-11 at SFO
Registration open through October 7
Our recruiters continue to work hard to find the best and brightest pilots to join our talented team. To support this effort, they are planning a special career fair targeted exclusively to current military pilots and veterans on November 10–11, 2016, at our SFO Maintenance Operations Center.
Here are some additional details if you know someone who may be interested in attending.
November 10
General information session: The first day of the career fair offers current military pilots and veterans more information about becoming a United pilot, particularly what the first year will look like. All participants will get to hear more about making the shift to a commercial flying career, more detail about the hiring process and have the opportunity to ask questions. United pilots who have successfully made this transition will be available to discuss their experience.
November 11
One-on-one conversations with pilot recruiters: On day two, qualified applicants will have the opportunity, by invitation only, to meet with a pilot recruiter. If interested in receiving an invitation to this portion of the event, candidates must ensure their pilot application is on file and up to date at Airline Applications by Sept. 30, 2016, for the pilot recruiting team to review.
Admission to the career fair events are free; however, United will not cover meal, travel or lodging expenses.
You do not need to have actually flown in the military to attend these events.

Registration and invitations
Online registration is open through October 7 at www.united.com/militarycareerfair. Space is limited and by invitation only (if interested in Day 2, remember that a candidate’s pilot application must be up to date at Airline Applications no later than September 30!). Confirmation emails with invitations will be sent a few weeks prior to the event date.
For security reasons, only individuals with invitations will be allowed to attend these events.

Yes. Hoping for one for civilians who have been in the regional and charter trenches too.

Agreed! Without sounding like some anti-military guy. I respect all those that have enlisted and served. Wasn't for everyone though. At some point there has to be a "military equivalent" credit for those who can't go back and change the course they took.

Put me in coach!

Nice email address. I'm sure this whole thing has nothing to do with the number of lawsuits the airline is losing concerning past USERRA abuses.
