Every VDO call I got except 1 were less than the 13 hour callout time. Most of them were fairly short notice, 2-4 hours...

I think it boils down to a VDO is still a day off...as pointed out by detpilot. CS can call you just like they call a line holder for SRM. They can ask you to show asap, and you can say yea or nay. All my VDO call outs have been short notice....some were "how soon can you get there" short notice.

good to know... I thought it was the same as being on LSR.

It's a mechanism to prevent senior line holders from doubling their paycheck and boorishly brag about it during cruise.
