Pilots on VRDOs are still required 14 hours callout I thought by contract... Waiverable to min FAR rest? I don't think it's legal to call a pilot on a VRDO for a 2 hour callout... But could be wrong. I always thought VRDOs were handcuffed unless schedulers have nobody on FIFO that is legal...

I think it boils down to a VDO is still a day off...as pointed out by detpilot. CS can call you just like they call a line holder for SRM. They can ask you to show asap, and you can say yea or nay. All my VDO call outs have been short notice....some were "how soon can you get there" short notice.
