I said if you're not and airline employee... then this does not apply to you.

Hilltopper said "There is absolutely no way someone...anyone...will be required to pay state income taxes in 2 states."

That is simply not true. Regular joes are absolutely required to file state returns in their resident states as well as in states where they earn income. Not the case with airline crews. Thus my statement "we don't know how good we have it"....meaning being aircrew.

He's correct. Lots of guys I know in PA/NJ have wives that work across state lines. They get double tapped on state income tax. Enjoy. Add on to that each county/municipalities own income tax. But hey, you get really nice people, great roads and services, and awesome weather for all that money!

This will not apply to pilots or flight attendants. It will apply to passenger agents and mechanics.

I stand corrected. What I understand and meant is that I don't think you can be taxed on your entire income in 2 states, only on the portion you earned in that state. Maybe I'm wrong.

I have a friend that works for the NFL. He gets taxed for every state the team plays in, thus paying taxes in about 10 states each year for the portion of work completed in that state.

I don't think it affects my friend much (besides the paperwork nightmare) since he's not a player, but those football players who make multiple millions are definitely affected.

Again, since we are under the DOT rules, we are exempted from these rules and thus only pay taxes in our state of residency. I think people like CPs and sim instructors are not exempt like normal line pilots since they don't fly every time they go to work.

And, with the impending hike in NJ State gasoline tax, I'll be filling up in Pennsylvania instead (except when it's snowing, of course).

Wow, I live in western PA and we fill up our cars in Ohio. Gas is .30 cents cheaper than PA.
