What is being missed is the value they got from selling the 757s. They were able to sell the 757s before they had zero resale value. The market for used 757s is now primarily for parts.
As stated above the -900 guppies are capable of doing 99% of the flights it does with out any limitations. Does it have less margins? Sure, but no one argues that. By the way we also have weight restricted 777a models out of the islands, should we get rid of those too?
I am just glad we replaced the airplanes we parked and have been growing. Far better alternative to just parking planes with no replacements.

There are very few flyable used 757's available. I found 3.

Allegiant acquired the aircraft in 2010 for the express purpose of serving Hawaii, a major leisure destination that it could not serve with its existing MD-80 fleet. However, a lack of anticipated demand has resulted in Hawaii-bound flights from Bellingham, Eugene, Spokane, Boise, Phoenix Williams Gateway, Santa Maria, CA, and Stockton being dropped leaving only Las Vegas McCarran and Los Angeles Int'l connected to Honolulu.

I have flown the 737 here for over 9 years and I've had 1 weight restricted flight (besides Fiji, which we no longer serve due to being unprofitable on a 737). On that 1 flight we removed some bags and still got every passenger and non-rev on board. Perhaps some people had to wait for their bags a few more hours for the next flight, but this would statistically be called an "outlier".

We would not be doing the F5 GA ...with bleeds off.....landing procedure if there were not a problem. A BIG problem. Like leave 30 pax at the gate on a flight from IAH to DEN problem (ice accretion penalty). Don't get me wrong, I am amazed when i'm flying 179 peeps to Chicago at CI 10 sipping 2600 a side. But then I get sidetracked thinking about the 193kt GS I saw on my F5 takeoff out of DEN and the future landing on 27L @ 160kts with a x-wind and wet runway. Good thing I fly 5-6 days per month.

This! I flew it for 7000 hours at LCal. Once can I remember being almost weight restricted. In a -300 out of dca. Several times agents thought we might have an issue. Never did though. FWIW I fly the the 756 now. Vastly superior performer over the -900 but again, I just never saw any actual performance issues other than not being able to get above 330-320 on a transcon. Never once left pax behind. At least that I know of or remember. Granted I was not doing Hawaii.
Like was mentioned, the flaps 5 GA, 170kt approach to Denver in snow/ice and people don't thing the thing is broke?

No one is talking about the classics. I have half the guppy hours you have and have left pax behind on transcons, Hawaii, ANC, and a few others multiple times. Stopped for gas on transcons, multiple times.
