As for non rev, I guess we need to pay more attention here. Non rev virtually never get first class anymore because it is filled with upgrades before non rev. I can't even get an upgrade to a positive space DH. I haven't seen non rev in first for a very long time.
Big difference between 2 and 3 class upgrade. Global First is pretty cost prohibitive for people on upgrade. Unfortunately as soon as you see a good GF load as a non rev (esp Europe), senior people flock like flies to poop.

Yeah! Got them right here... Why would I ask if he had actual numbers if I myself had them?

All I've heard from F/A's, gate agents, pilots that had flown those routes be it the 777 or 747 was that many GS and frequent business travelers were voicing displeasure with the move to our 787 premium product. That's why I asked if we really had zero paying F class vs that being a speculative comment.

Sure they complained, but not because they could no longer pay for first class. They complained because they were getting the product and not paying for it. They would rather pay for business first knowing they have a seat over economy. VS paying for business and getting a upgrade to first. Causing another upgrade from economy.

Probably many of the same ones that used to get an occasional upgrade to first, as opposed to paying for it outright.

20 years ago, flying to South America and Europe, we used to have quite a few full rev pax in 1st class. By 10 years later, it had stopped. Those super hi rev pax went fractional. They are gone. Those 1st class pods took up so much square footage, it hasn't made money for years.

It was great as a non-rev. Business would fill up, and we usually got 1st class.

My profit sharing check is happy the pods are going the way of the white buffalo.

Brian seemed like a bright guy. I heard him talk a couple of times, and answer questions. He seemed pretty knowledgeable.

Or, I am wrong.

You are wrong.... Every pilot knows more than every management guy. I hear it all day long, as if these guys never considered any of what is being suggested.

I have flown on AA's new 321's a lot lately and they are no picnic. Same pig in the back, just a cheaper feel. Up front however is a different story.

Spot on for domestic, where upgrades are free and automatic....but not true at all for Pacific, Atlantic, and deep SA where usually the ONLY empty seat is in FC...especially Global First on a 3-class. It's the last good deal left for non-revs. Just rode my arse in the nose cone of a 747 to and from China....we ALL got GF. Hell, even sent a BUDDY over there last month. He got Business First upstairs. There were empty seats in GF, but he was unaccompanied and could only ride BF (rules). Sent my kids over to Europe numerous times with buddy pass riders...more FC than not. Coach is usually oversold! Sometimes their buddies complain because the FC buddy passes cost more than Coach!! lol. ygtbsm....brats
