Thought I had escaped him in my previous life- looks like the setup for good cop (Oscar), bad cops from here on out. Ominous sign in my opinion

I'm not going to lose any sleep over it... its not like Oscar asked who we would like to fill that new position. I'll sit my reserve and collect my pay check... not going to worry about something outside my control... or the Union's control for that matter.

Beware. Not a good guy. He was behind the entire US Airways east vs west fight and never gave airways pilots a raise for 5 years.

Constantly wants to outsource more RJs.

Slimy, anti-pilot, anti-labor.

Good luck. We're glad he is gone.

Sat in America West 737 JS in 2010 and got long lecture from FO about how East pilots had sabotaged him from making $170 bucks/hour. Walked overly aware problems for US Air pilots weren't coming just from management.

Shouldnt some blame fall on the shoulders of the pilots who didn't believe binding arbitration applied to them and broke away from ALPA? That couldn't have helped the pilot group by any means. There has to be more blame to your pilot groups past problems then just management.

Let Oscar fill his Cabinet.... the DREAM TEAM baby!

Kris Kelley, an airline equity analyst for Janus Capital, a major shareholder in United, called the hiring “absolutely amazing.” Kelley called Kirby an excellent executive dealing with operations, revenues and finances, and anticipated a good fit with the recently hired Andrew Levy as chief financial officer from low-cost-carrier Allegiant Airlines.

“This was always a dream scenario,” Kelley said. “It’s like all of a sudden United’s got the dream team of management in the C Suite and the board."

Why is everything always read at face value? "Remember the Maine..."
