I’m sure there are people that live in the Pocono area. Definitely worth the drive from PA. I live out west of Allentown. Taxes in PA are significantly lower than New Jersey or New York, including property taxes. Real estate prices are generally lower, depending on the area. Plus PA gun laws are much more friendly to those that choose to carry.

Trick question right? Isn’t it “all of them?” I digress.

Does anyone have any suggestions about towns near the shore? I live a five minute drive from the beach on Cape Cod, and my wife doesn't want to give up the lifestyle, but I am getting tired of the 4 to 6 hour drive. Hoping to find a place where we can still use the boat, cut my commute to under two hours, and have good schools and neighborhoods for the kids. Does such a place exist?

Second vote for Point Pleasant. About 47 miles to EWR. Great schools, beach, plenty of inter coastal boating, or ocean boating/fishing. Love it there. Also agree that most of Monmouth and Ocean county are nice, but some parts are more pricy than others. I like Point because it is more affordable and not as uppity as some of the surrounding beach towns. Also, pretty impressed by the local Government in Point.
