Ord hotels
Hey! Looking for the good, bad, and ugly on hotels around ORD. Would appreciate a nicer one for when I bring the old lady, and a cheaper one for when I don't... All with airport shuttle and crew rates, please. Thanks!

Sheraton 4 points, $59, good van service on the 20's. Weak gym, good restaurant and bar.
Best Westen, $65, good van service on the halves at :05 and :35. Weak gym, excellent restaurant and bar (shoeless joes). Lots close by, but very average to below average rooms.
Those are the ones I use in that order.

Although for a commuter hotel and the price, the gym at the 4 points is good enough, but it's NOT the Hilton's facility.
Best Western's gym is substandard. However, the BW does have a free breakfast. If one wants a little more than Shoeless Joe's you can cross over to the Holiday Inn with Harry Carey's Steakhouse in it.
If you're stuck between trips and have time, you can walk from the BW to the shopping center with Target, etc if you need anything.
The Sheraton is limited/remote so to speak location wise, with maybe the Oasis up the street for more food options, etc.

The Holiday Inn in Elk Grove Village is a great place to say (Busse Rd & Landmeire Rd) Quick shuttle to ORD crew rates back in the day were I believe $79 maybe cheaper.
A little farther away again Shuttle to ORD but down the street from Woodfield Mall Marriott

The company recently announced that lodging at the Elk Grove campus is available for commuters.
Cost I think is $31.00. There is a bus shuttle-service to ORD, and as a company bus, pretty sure it is free.
It's space-available, and probably similar to a VOQ room at a military base, but I think it would be clean, and definitely safe.
I was based at ORD as a new hire. If this had been available back then, I certainly would have tried it.
