I flew a combo of CFM and IAE buses at a couple of jobs. I never noticed a difference other than a slightly different sound, 1 started faster than the other, and IAE's have a LOT more excess thrust at ground idle
I always thought IAE's were smoother, but I have heard others say the opposite.
Did they derate the engines on the new Chinese 319's?

I flew the Air China airplane from IND to DEN a couple of days ago.
I appreciated the updated LCD screens and could feel a little more acceleration even using a flex temp.
the FMC was no problem. Activating a secondary is different from the legacy airplanes also.

Looks like the updated fleet plan for THIS year adds six A319's. The fleet plan at the beginning of the year had the plan at nine A319's.
The new fleet pan also ADDED another 737 for the year. Original plan was a net gain of 23 aircraft, updated to 21 aircraft.

The finance news says VA is way overpaying for their leases, as they ordered them during a huge buying frenzy. We may not want them, as I believe we want used aircraft on the cheap.
Some of the 319's I flew were IAE 2527 (or 28, I can't remember) 27 or 28k per side, in a 319. We were always max FLEX. I can't remember the number. It might have been "80", or at least mid 70's.
I should have done max blast at least once, just to see what it felt like.

I also found the FMGC to be a bit more responsive than our older birds. The most noticeable thing to me, aside from the awesomeness of the LCDs, was how much quieter the cockpit was...and the Bus is already pretty quiet.
