Funny, I used to fly to those cities all the time on the Shuttle guppy.

Came to that conclusion because on one of the Network Planning updates all the examples that the SR VP gave were ORD to midwest cities. So somewhat speculation, but based on the words out of the horses mouth.

I would think that SFO would be part of the lead of this initiative as well, given our aggressive stance/growth going on there.

I didn't include SFO, as the original post of the thread was talking about trying to get back to the midwest from the west coast. I figure based on the Network Planning guy's discussion that ORD will lead DEN and IAH in the replacing the 50 seater program, which would likely mean that ORD will see somewhat more movement than IAH or DEN.

Sounds like you are delaying the inevitable.

Random question:

Does UAL have a deadline on when they'll pay for your move to your first domicile?

I was hired July 2015 and got DCA as my first domicile and we are now thinking about moving to DC in the next 1-2 years.

Will UAL still pay to move us?

Career move - have only 1 - no timeline on when you have to pull the trigger.

Even funnier.....I used to fly those same cities on the 737-200 before the Shuttle. MSN, MKE, MBS, GRR, PIA, MLI.........etc....etc....too. I hope these gauge changes signal the death rattle of the 1998 RJ Exception Letter.

The move can only be to the domecile you received out of training (DCA for me) correct?

Just double-checking that if I bid DEN/IAH/etc. that UAL will or will not move me to that location.

Can't remember what the new contract says on moves... but don't think new hires are covered until they are off probation...

You may want to look at Section 6 of the Contract. I didn't do a lot of research on new hire status/paid moves but it may be in a separate section of the contract.

Hi everyone, I interviewed recently and was told to expect a fall class! I'm beyond excited to start at United.

Couple of questions:
1) Is class seniority still based on SSN or age?
2) They say to expect 737, 757/767, or Airbus. Are those in training typically seeing a backup between indoc and sims, and then between sims and IOE?

I'm hoping for IAD base, with EWR as alternate option. I'll gladly take anywhere, but hopefully one of those two will happen. I'm assuming 737 probably would give me most flexibility with bases. Do you think that's true?

Thanks!
