New Uniforms

Ya know, it's condescending *** who are quick to dispense a lecture that are more damaging to the union than any survey result could ever be. Keep up the good work though.

A lecture, really? My question was when did ALPA send something about uniforms. I (still) haven't seen anything.

I want better fitting, more comfortable uniforms, as does probably every other pilot. Just how are my comments neutering anybody? Were you issued a tin foil hat by mistake?

A question about uniform maintenance might seem obvious. Would I prefer a tin foil hat that is easy to maintain or not? Of course I do, right? As soon as I get home I can put it in my dishwasher and out it comes shiny and all wrinkly free. But now my poor dry cleaner has lost business because I'm not using my "contractual, COMPANY PAID" benefit. Tell me who benefits in that survey question?
Cost to replace might be another question floated. On the outset, asking a pilot that question brings tears to my eyes. Keep in mind that cost to replace has a correlation to cost to procure. Last I saw, Wal-Mart isn't selling Brooks Brothers. Who's funding the initial uniform procurement?
How can your Alpa uniform representative fight on your behalf when they are shown data that pilots want a cheap uniform that can be washed in the hotel sink? There are no free tin foil hats and there are no shortage of people willing to lighten your wallet to wear one. Although, I do derive anti radiation health benefits.

It's quite possible that the company would like to clarify the details about what pilots don't like about the current uniform, and learn what they would like in merger uniform 2.0.
Nobody gives a flip about your local dry cleaner. Company paid cleaning won't go away unless the membership ratifies a contract that gives it away. Pilots won't have the opportunity to do that until after 2019.
It's true, some pilots are destined to look like a Wal-Mart shopper no matter what the company does. Others understand that quality clothing costs more than cheap clothing. There's always a relationship between price and quality, why would you suggest that uniforms are somehow exempt from this fact? Better materials and better craftsmanship cost more. That said, I hope the uniform committee insists that the next uniform is a good value.
This one's easy, they could send out an actual survey to pilots instead of the imaginary survey you keep referencing.
