Here is the latest info from the Manpower update from Friday 3-18 on the 756/76T , 737, and Airbus:
756 and 76T
The 76T cockpit conversion process continues with well over 50% of the aircraft conversions complete. We expect to begin the last aircraft conversion in April, and our various stakeholders have assured us that no 76T flying would occur into May. We are planning the staffing and 756 DMA training accordingly.
SFO – Increased Hawaii flying on the type versus our previous update has driven staffing requirements higher in SFO, and to a higher level than what it will be by July. That staffing and flying was initially planned in EWR (to different locations). Given the short lead time, we will optimize flying differently to ensure we do not overstaff the system, while recognizing SFO could support more of its flying in the future, should the plans remain the same.
LAX – LAX is currently planned to be properly staffed for the summer.
IAH – We continue to see some level of overstaffing in this category relative to summer 2016 flying on both seats. We intend on pushing some flying from other locations to increase our staffing utilization and mitigate that impact.
ORD – We currently anticipate the category to be well staffed in summer 2016.
DCA – We currently anticipate the category to be well staffed in summer 2016.
EWR – We anticipate, with the help of the latest vacancy on the first officer seat, to be well staffed in summer 2016.
320 and 737 fleets
To ensure we better distribute new hire pilots around the system, you will continue to see first officer positions in both fleets scattered where we normally see attrition.
GUM – We are continuing to manage captain overstaffing in Guam via attrition, and anticipate seeing some vacancies on the first officer seat next week.
SFO – While the 737 is well staffed for the summer, we anticipate one more vacancy to rationalize staffing on the 320 captain seat in SFO by a little bit more than 10 positions.
LAX – Both 737 and 320 are properly staffed in LAX for the summer. In the future, fleet concentration out of ORD, DEN, IAH and SFO may lead to a shift in departures between LAX and SNA.
DEN – Both 737 and 320 are properly staffed in DEN for the summer.
IAH – Both 737 and 320 are staffed such that we will push some incremental flying into IAH to ensure optimal utilization of our crews this summer. Low oil prices may affect future growth at the Texas hub, and we are monitoring any potential impact this may have on pilot staffing at this location.
ORD – The base is slightly understaffed on the 737 and overstaffed on the 320, ahead of further future 320 flying concentration in the fall. We expect to increase the size of the 320 category in the fall.
CLE – We are currently forcing flying in the base at a level of roughly 60 lines of flying. For pilots attriting out on the captain seat, we will continue our policy of not replacing them, and similarly to some other locations, we are not backfilling the corresponding first officers once a captain leaves to ensure seat balance.
DCA – While there is still room to grow in DCA for the 737, the staffing currently planned for the summer is where it needs to be on both seats. The 320 staffing is also in line with our manpower needs. Looking into the future, fleet concentration out of ORD, DEN, IAH and SFO may lead to decreased departures at the hub.
EWR – Similar to what we previously mentioned, A320 flying in EWR is sharply decreasing due to the concentration of the 320 departures out of four of our hubs (ORD, DEN, IAH and SFO, which contain 80% of the hub departures). This means most of the A320 departures for in the NYC area will continue to be out of LGA. Our EWR base is properly staffed on this fleet, and will continue to provide the required staffing to operate those flights out of EWR and LGA. The 737 fleet is staffed appropriately in EWR for this summer.

I got hired into the 756 back in June. If you live in the Newark area it's in my opinion the best choice its a great plane. However your going to be junior for a long time. I live west coast but haven't been able to get out of Newark till just recently. As of right now I would say the 737 will give you most base options with best quality of life. I would be a line holder right now in both LAX or SFO on it.

With the amount of retirements, more aircraft arriving new and used, an ever changing staffing model, upgrades galore, TK south closing, etc. you just don't know what could happen. All you can do is keep your bids in and see how it plays out.
Not sure if you are already in class but being on the bus or 737 gives you the option to bid up to the 756 right away vs. bidding down after 2 years on the 756 to go to 737 or bus.
