We'd all like to have a CEO that cares about United Airlines, it's employees and their families. OM may be THE ONE but considering how he got here you have to question it. Was OM appointed to protect the board from the wrong doings of JS. Maybe, maybe not but we'll find out eventually. In the meantime, he needs to do more than lip service to gain any creditability.

United Reaches Tentative Agreements on New Contracts for IAM-represented Employees
PR Newswire United Airlines
CHICAGO, April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- United and the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) reached tentative agreements today on new contracts for all of the airline's nearly 30,000 IAM-represented employees.
The seven agreements cover airport operations employees, contact center agents, storekeepers, maintenance instructors, central load planners, fleet technical instructors and related employees, and security officers who are represented by IAM.
"As I visit our airport locations I'm always impressed with the passion and professionalism of our IAM-represented team," said Oscar Munoz, the airline's president and chief executive officer. "They take great care of our customers and each other every day, and we are excited to reach this agreement. A special thank you to the negotiating teams for all of their hard work as well."
The parties reached these agreements following just four months of negotiations and are between nine months and two and a half years in advance of the current contracts' amendable dates. Each tentative agreement would be effective through 2021 and is now subject to ratification by the company's IAM-represented employees.
United has joint collective bargaining agreements covering the majority of its represented work groups. Recently, United's pilots voted to ratify a contract extension more than a year ahead of their contract's amendable date, following an expedited negotiations process with the Air Line Pilots Association. The company's dispatchers also voted recently to ratify a contract extension. Additionally, the airline is engaged in mediated negotiations with the Association of Flight Attendants and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today announced it has reached seven tentative agreements with United Airlines for approximately 30,000 workers at the airline.
The five-year accords run through 2021 and call for approximately 30 percent in pay increases over the term of the deal and $100 million in lump sum payments. The contract also includes a 25 percent hike in defined-benefit pension benefits, stops outsourcing of work currently performed by IAM members and provides for insourcing of additional work.
“IAM members at United can now share appropriately in the value they created at one of the world’s biggest and most successful airlines,” said General Vice President Sito Pantoja. “I commend the Negotiating Committee for the tremendous amount of work they did and every IAM member at United Airlines for demanding and achieving their fair share. I’d also like to thank United CEO Oscar Munoz and his team for demonstrating a willingness to partner with the IAM for the benefit of the employees and the airline.”
“As a United Fleet Service Employee, I am extremely proud to say IAM-represented workers at United are back at the top of our industry,” said IAM District 141 President Mike Klemm. “I’d like to thank the Negotiating Committee for vigorously representing our members’ interests. The Negotiating Committee unanimously recommends ratification of the agreements.”
The current agreements were not amendable until December 31, 2016. The IAM and United agreed last October to open existing contracts one year early and engage in “limited issue, expedited negotiations,” which led to today’s tentative agreements. IAM members will vote on the accords on Friday, April 15th. This is the third round of bargaining since United emerged from bankruptcy, and the second since the carrier’s merger with Continental Airlines.

The IAM represents approximately 30,000 Fleet Service, Passenger Service, Reservations, Stockroom, Central Load Planner, Maintenance Instructor, Fleet Technical Instructor, Emergency Procedures Instructor, Security Officer and Food Service workers at United Airlines and is the world’s largest transportation union.

Great to see. Maybe a light was lit under their butts when they saw the hedge funds were going after a money grab. Now, if we can get the FA's done so we can operationally function better. Hearing by summer's end?

FAs were talking on the crew bus last week. They think they will have a TA in 3-6 weeks. (It's being drafted now). They sounded optimistic.
Haven't heard anything on the mechanic side.

I still don't see anything other than OM protecting himself and the board from the outsiders. It's stil not about rebuilding a strong employee airline - OM is just loading it up with debt to keep the WOLF outside HIS house.
