... by the way, after taking a look at O'Neal's 'leadership' history, I find all six completely unqualified for seats on the BOD.
Completely unqualified? I thing most people who are selected to be on a board are selected because they are connected, so to speak, and as such, most are unqualified. These board members are all part of the "Good ole boy" network.

If they have to step on the employee contracts and customer satisfaction of both airlines to get their money they will happily do it. These 2 groups and their new ex-con mouthpiece want to finish what the first ex-con (smiesnik, sp? don't care) started, destroy United for their personal profit. Bethune was praising smiesnik on his CNBC interview, THAT should be enough for anyone to understand their agenda.

Maybe Gordo wants to give us back our old ex-con pay rates and work rules?

Sounds like you are on the right track. The CNBC interview makes it obvious that Bethune took Smisek's dismissal personally. I found this article interesting too. There appears to be a history of angst between Bethune and Henry Meyer going back to Bethune's unexpected departure from CAL in 2004. Gordon appears to have an axe to grind.

I think your right about Gordon having an axe to grind. When Brennerman crossed ways with Gordon at the CAL BOD, Brennerman was gone in six months. Numerous reports of Gordon in Houston pilot lounge screaming and cursing about Brennerman to all who would listen. Remember he said something to the effect of if your going to start a cou you better kill the king. Make no mistake about it Brennernan was the brains behind CAL's turnaround, Gordon was the mouth piece. I believe he holds a grudge and wants revenge, Gordon has a large ego.

LOL! It's hard to argue with your post. I found it funny that Altimeter/PAR stated that these clowns were highly qualified ... a quick search of their backgrounds proved otherwise. It's like (other than Bethune) Altimeter/PAR didn't even try to find anyone with an aviation background

Which plays well with the narrative that they aren't really interested in improving operations but rather aim to slaughter the fatted calf for short term profit at the expense of the employees.

Any chance Gordon's comments about Smisek were code? Meant for the employees to be fearful of the PAR and Altimeter proxy.

I think the ALPA MEC's official statement is code enough to oppose it. Seriously, look at the timing of this. After setting operational reliability records in the fourth quarter, these clowns say they need to step in and fix things. Every single analyst is baffled by this. It makes no sense if their (the raiders) intent is to improve operations. It does, however, make sense if their intention is to funnel all the profits to the shareholders (themselves) and sell off strategic assets to generate even more cash. These are NOT nice people. They started squawking just about the time Oscar Munoz was announcing that the employees of United were disconnected and abused.

So I'm not an expert in the dealings of major corporations but is there anything that the employee groups can do to try to have any influence with this. I know the unions have put out statements, but is that the full extent of what can be done?
