As promised, I am reporting on the made to order pilot shirts I ordered from Whitepilotshirts.com. It took several weeks but all 8 of my shirts arrived. It turns out that Whitepilotshirts.com and Custompilotshirts.com are either owned by the same person or use the same factory in Mumbai as all the shirts were mailed in one shipment. I really like the look/feel and fit. Yes, more expensive but worth the price. The only downside that might be on the horizon is the extreme light fabric (these will easily be the most comfortable pilot shirts you ever wear) might be harder to iron if you are trying to get 2 days out of a single shirt by using the hotel iron. These will need to be professionally laundered and pressed at your dry cleaner of choice (expense it UAL pilots). The button down collars are great and the metal collar stays for the straight collars are custom with your name/rank and UAL globe logo. Give them a try if you want a really nice shirt for work. I'll report back after a few trips if anything goes wrong.

Never, never use the hotel iron. Every one I've ever seen has had minerals, melted ironing board plastic, and other crap on the heated surface. Wear a good quality T-shirt below your uniform shirt, let IT take the abuse from your pits, and change IT every day instead of the uniform short. Hanging up your shirt when you get to the room should keep it pretty wrinkle free. Oh, and remember to wear the chalky kind of deodorant so your shirt pits don't turn blue or green or whatever the hell color they dye the other kind.
