You can get the epaulets at the same place that sells the dress black sneakers.

For anyone considering a new belt, do not buy the uniform belt from M&H. I bought one and it lasted about 3 trips before the cheap leather was torn by the buckle. Got the black men's dress belt from L.L. Bean and I couldn't be happier. It's made from full grain leather and looks like it will last the rest of my career.

You might guess that was the case, but it wasn't. I know the guy that was on the uniform committee. He constantly apologized for the new uniform an council meetings. ALPA has approval or disapproval of any new uniforms or new vendors. Let's call him George, vetoed every low ball low cost vendor the company came up with--and they were absolutely horrible, yes worse than what we got.

However, if he company kept the same vendor, the way the contract was written, ALPA had no say. They found a loop hole. So, once again, Jeff went cheap and now we live with the results.

I also grew up in San Mateo, and regularly am able to go the Murphy and Hartilius shop. They said they had no idea any one would ever buy the crap they offered UAL at bargain prices. They also apologize every time I'm there.

So, the point of this story is, ALPA and the uniform committee did not have any input to our current uniform. It wasn't for lack of trying. Thanks Jeff! All Jeffed up again.

That's sad. I actually had my UAL interview suit custom made by MH back in the day. They did nice work. Wonder how the tailor shop side is these days? Rightly or wrongly, the garbage they turn out for uniforms has totally driven their reputation down in my book.

Agreed. Their tailor shop is still in San Mateo, and they do really excellent work. Uniforms, not so much.

Plus, if you order anything from M&H online, their shipping costs can be outrageous. I ordered two shirts and a tie, and they tried to charge me $17.50 for Fedex ground (the cheapest option). It was more than the cost of the tie! I complained and got it down to $10. Still too expensive!

I should have prefaced my stupid epaulet question by mentioning that I have been on LTD for the last few years... I have never worn the new uniform and I am anticipating coming back in the spring.. Believe me... i am cool with no stripes on the leather jacket... I can't believe I'm asking this but do they put wings on the jacket..??

Shirts...take your pick. The jacket is a POS. I think all the buttons have fallen off and I rarely wear it.

Super comfortable and color match.

Yup, Jos E Banks has the Executive Full Length Merino Wool Topcoat in Black and is on sale right now for $99.00. Had mine for over two years and love it. No crappy uniform blazer underneath necessary and free ball it with the SS shirts you purchased from elsewhere. Used it to hike down to David Bowies pad in Soho the other day to pay tribute in the lovely 29 degree weather.

Our uniforms an embarrassment and I refuse to wear any of it.
What were the colors that were chosen for the above pants? Blue? Navy?

Yes, wings.. larger Jacket wings, the same ones you place on the dress jacket. The M&H leather jacket has grommeted holes for the wings.
