Like I said, the 757 does outperform the 737 in runway performance but 99% of the time that performance is not needed. I would love an airplane that can do 5000fpm single engine but what we want as pilots versus what is needed or feasible in real life are two different things. You are the perfect example of a pilot in so in love with his 757 but can't recognize that she is old, thirsty, and high maintenance....emotion with no critical thinking.

I got kicked off a SWA Jumpseat the other day because of weight. 737-300. An obstacle off the end of Runway 27 (????) in KSAN had their MTOG being lower than their Max Landing Weight. I'd hate to see their numbers on a runway that actually HAS an obstacle!!
The thing has been a piglet since it was born. That said, it's pretty rare for me to see a weight restriction on the -900. They seem to have figured out what markets to keep it out of. Still HATE the thing with the passion of 1,000 suns.

Line of weather? 737 radar is just fine..especially the new ones with the auto feature. If they weather is that bad I don't think you're going to be topping it in a 757 either.

Critical enough for me.
