Sorry for all the questions...
You will get your first choice...as long as you bid your days in April, September or January.

I see you are a glass half full kind of guy. That's good. Those are the months that I've gotten vacation for the past 3-4 years. I can always seem to get spring break off when my kids are out of school. Septembers are usually available and you can squeeze one last week out of summer. January or February are also common after the run up to Christmas.

Summer time is always a busy time. All those 90 hour schedules can wear a guy down. It's not unusual to catch a cold...requiring some downtime until you feel better.

Honestly, a minimum of 12 days off every month AND vacation? I know we've work real hard and deserve it and all that, but we're pretty set in my opinion. I'll take my juniority for a few years...

Vacation months don't really mean you get your 12 min days off plus 7 days for vacation. Instead of 19 days off, like a reasonable person would assume...they actually reduce your days available by the amount of vacation days. Then they pro-rate the number of min days off. You end up with maybe 16 days of versus the 19.

That does sound a little sketch, but hard to be upset at 16 days off... Unless they made me fly 14 one day trips!

Clarification please.

1. You elect all your vacation days, annually bid them and miraculously, are awarded all of them. You are paid your vacation number of hours (3.5 hours per day, correct?) rate for them as they're used plus the 16%. Correct?

2. You elect all your vacation days, annually bid them but don't get all of your requests. You then monthly bid your remaining unawarded days as the year progresses and get them. As in #1, same vacation hours per day plus 16%, correct?

3. You elect all your vacation days, annually bid them but don't get all of your requests. You then monthly bid your unawarded days as the year progresses and don't get all of them. The unawarded days are only paid at the vacation hours per remaining day into your 401k but without the 16%?

If you elect all of your days, you will get assigned vacation periods if all your bids fail. You will get the leftovers. The only time your vacation will get bought by the company without the PRAP money paid is if you DO NOT elect all of your days...i.e. With hold some for monthly bidding and then those days are not used.

That is my understanding of the system. Please correct me if that is not the case.
