Default MEC Vote On Contract Extension TA

Vote scheduled for tomorrow.

Heard vote is very close could go either way. No matter which side you favor, may be worth your time to communicate to your reps tonight and let them know how you feel on this important vote.

Most likely vote will pass a senatorial vote and then will be roll called. With a roll call vote its too close to call either way. I just hope when its all said and done the end result is what is truly in the best interest for all 12,000 plus United pilots and not for MEC politics.

I think it would be wise for the MEC to put the TA out for a vote no matter what they think of it. There seems to be more support on these forums for what we think is in the TA than I would have guessed there would be back in October. I don't see much harm to the MEC if the TA gets voted down by the larger membership (heh, heh, heh, he said "larger membership"). But if the MEC doesn't let the grunts have a gander and a voice at this point, I'd expect some MEC reps to be handed their walking papers in the future.

I don't think that's the plan. Having said that, I don't know why they would keep us in the Dark about the facts of the AIP unless they feel there might be later opportunities for improvement but even then, I'd like to see how well it matched up with the rumors

The only way the ta shouod be put out to a pilot vote is IF the TA is exactly what the MeC directed the Nc to GET. If not, it shouldnt make it to a pilot vote bc the nc Failed to get the mec directed items. Very simple.

Now if the mec puts out the ta without ALL the directed items from the MeC, something is very, very wrong

I would expect them to leak information, then look at the response from the minions. They want the minions to like them, and their decisions.

Leaking the info, then seeing our response, is as good as hindsight.

Except the vocal response often is not in accordance with the larger majority.

Won't matter. It's the roll call vote that will count and it's likely to be pretty close.
