Its good to see the numbers starting to balance out and the seniority on everything but the 787 balance out. Bids are starting to make sense.

It doesn't appear the company is planning to train many new hires on the bus. This bid won't create many unfilled for that fleet.

Well this bid is a big disappointment for me. Was expecting more 777 spots. So much for the mother of all bids.

I'm trying to switch to the Bus in EWR and hoping for some backfills. Not sure if it'll work out this time. Go figure, no new hires getting the bus in Newark this time!

Default IAH 320 fo

I am trying to understand how I was awarded 320 IAH at 19 percent last bid and now it is showing me at 27 percent on the bidding screen. No new IAH 320 FO positions either.... ???????

Because the bidding screen shows the min number until the first snap shot

This means they won't backfill unless 63 FOs bid out.
That's not the only FO seat out of whack in IAH. Did you see the 787 Current to min? 70+ extra FOs. They built up the base with all the projected flying, then changed the flying to the west coast.

I asked crew planning and they said they were misheard. They said it was going to be the "mother-in-law" of all bids. Meaning you were thinking it would be one thing, and when you find out what it really is, you're left feeling disappointed.

Still no 756 in IAH. How would I go about trying to find someone for a base trade? I'm scheduled for 756 training and domiciled in DCA from the last vacancy bid.

One thing to remember......UAL could staff the ENTIRE airline simply by advertising a small number widebody CA positions every month (or so) and letting everything else get filled via "unadvertised" vacancies as numbers drop below MIN in each category.

When things are somewhat stabilized they really only need to advertise vacancies in categories with aircraft growth or where staffing is unbalanced.

With 177 CA vacancies we could easily see a significant number of FOs awarded the 777 in the final award (not the snapshots.)

Bid what you want, you just might get it.

Your chances are almost 100%.

The minimum and the maximum are identical for EWR 320 FO, so as soon as 1 current bid holder takes a different bid the company has to backfill for that loss. If history is any guide, not only will you get your lateral, but there will end up being many unfilled vacancies below you.
